Ismaili Muslim
Students Association
OUR STORY
Established in 2010, Ismaili Muslim Students Association is a relatively new organization at the University of Texas. With the increasing number of Ismaili students entering the university every year, our mission as an organization is to create a network of Ismaili students at the university. We seek to fulfill this mission by increasing Ismaili student interaction with other Ismailis as well as with the UT and Austin community.
How We Got Started
In the past, several students have tried to create an organization for Ismaili students at the University of Texas. However, due to various circumstances an official organization was never established.

All of that changed in the spring of 2010 when a group of motivated students invited everyone they knew to a general meeting in an effort to revive interest in a student-run Ismaili organization. In the meeting, the inspired students received an amazing response, leading to the creation of Ismaili Muslim Students Association.
Fulfilling Our Mission
Though IMSA seeks to bridge gaps between Ismaili students at the University of Texas, the organization also believes in building bridges with other organizations on campus as well as the local community. Community service is a major part of IMSA. Additionally, IMSA encourages its members to live healthy and active lives through various health and fitness activities andsocial events.
Though IMSA is a young organization, we are creating a name for ourselves at the university through various events. While we are an Ismaili organization, membership is open to all students and faculty.
